Culinary Artistry
This book/cookbook: Culinary Artistry by Andrew Dorenburg and Karen Page is an encyclopedia for flavor profiles and pairing food perfectly. This book was introduced to me by a chef I worked for when I was in culinary school and has stayed within reach of my kitchen ever since. (Which now includes spotted and sticky pages.) I find inspiration and confidence knowing I’m creating a well-rounded dish.
Simply look up the ingredient you are using and listed is all the other ingredients that pair with it. Bolded items pair best, cooking style included, and the season is also listed! It includes many recipes from some great chefs, as well as, informational articles such as technique. So, if you are looking to think outside the recipe box and get creative on your own- it’s worth every penny! ($22.49 on Amazon.com)
